Thought You'd Like To Know!

As a family we enjoy caring for our bullmastiffs in what most would think of as a unique way.  Each of us family members "owns" one or more of our bullmastiffs.  Because of this, each of our bullies are guaranteed special attention from someone in our family.  Because we do it this way, each one of us know which doggies we ourselves have to see cared for.  This means their food, their water, the cleaning of their kennel area, and their daily walk that they enjoy.  There are special aspects to our relationships to our doggies.  We thought you might like to know some of them!  =)

Caroline, Age 4

Caroline & Martina are best pals!  Martina is Caroline's little puppy and she looks out for her little charge's needs and wants.  Caroline and Martina are in the midst of making memories and Caroline will contine to take care of Martina, even when Martina weighs more than she does!  It is common to hear Caroline telling her friends about her puppy and the details of what her name is, etc, etc.

Here are Miriam, age 6 and Caroline, age 3, and Samson, who is over 4 1/2 yrs. of age.  In the past, Samson obeyed commands only from certain family members and was more rambunctious.  The children have worked with him especially in the last months, and now he will even obey commands from the smallest of the children.  Caroline loves it when in her little girl voice she says, "Sit, Samson!" and immediately Samson obeys like she's the queen!

Miriam, Age 6

Here is Miriam and one of her doggies she takes for a walk every day.  Scooter is a huge, muscular bullie, but as gentle as a lamb with Miriam.  Scooter walks next to Miriam as she carries the leash and they enjoy their time together.  Scooter was the winner of a Canine Good Citizen Award from America's Pet Registry, Inc. in 2004 for her exceptionally good manners.  Scooter is expecting a litter of puppies in January and  has champion bloodlines.  Miss Miriam will be there when the babies come.....Most definitely!

As of the first of August, 2007, Miriam has been given another little puppy to care for.  Misty was kept back from Molly's 7.23.07 Litter and we hope to have her as one of our mother dogs way off in the future.  At this time, Miriam and Misty are having lots of fun as a puppy with her little mistress would have.  Misty will continue to be Miriam's charge as she grows to adulthood.  These two love each other and enjoy their time together.

Miriam also has the responsibility of taking care of Cheyenne.  She has a special knack with Cheyenne.   When it comes time for Mama Cheyenne to have a little break from her babies, Miriam takes the leash and they head outdoors.  Cheyenne is very obedient and allows herself to be led about the yard by her little mistress!

Rose, Age 10

Rose is the main caregiver for Molly and Arfus.  Here is Molly, enjoying the day with her friend, Rose.  Molly is beautiful not only in her looks but also in her temperament.  She is expecting a litter of bullmastiff babies in February.  Her mother, Cheyenne, had our last litter in December.

Off they go!  It's another beautiful day, and Rose and Molly are enjoying their walk, out on the prairie lands of the Midwest!

Caleb, Age 12

Caleb is responsible for Jewel, Brownie & Coffee.  Here is Caleb and Jewel after one of their fun sessions!

As all intelligent, eleven-year-old boys, Caleb was looking for a fun way to do his chores.  Both he and Jewell were happy when he came up with a brilliant plan when he spotted a plastic toy truck and decided that he would still be going with Jewell on her walks!  They have so enjoyed this, Jewell included, that they have done this more than once or twice.  Here you see Rose indicating to Jewell which way the path goes, while Caleb is enjoying his ride.

Silas, Age 15

Here is  Silas, who is responsible for Congo, Red, & Tammy.  Silas is given to detail and tender in his care of his bullmastiffs, whatever their age.  Here you see Samson, who has been with the family since Silas was 9 yrs. of age.  That's long enough to just be one of the family, wouldn't you say?

Do you know what it's like to be the oldest of 5 children and have to be the perfect big brother, and the one that Mom can call on at any given moment?  Here Silas is taking a little time with Samson and his youngest two sisters as well.  They all know that they can count on him.  Silas is a sensitive young man and carries more of a load than the other children as he is the oldest and most experienced.
